I am starting my 5th year at Coleman Elementary School, and this is my 16th year in Education. I teach our Dyslexia students and am also the Reading Specialist. Dyslexia affects 20% of the US population, and is the most common learning disability. Even though children don't outgrow Dyslexia, they can learn to compensate and be successful. I also help struggling readers during WIN Time and love to help students develop a love for reading!
I graduated with my BS in Interdisciplinary Studies from Lamar University in Beaumont, with a specialization in Early Childhood and English. During my 16 years of teaching, I have taught grades 2, 3, 4, & 5.  I have been married to Steve for 39 years and we have 2 sons, 2 daughter in laws, and 7 grandbabies. In my spare time, I love to spend time with my husband, our family, and I enjoy traveling.
